Antenatal Clinic

Asthma Management
Clinic
We operate a call and recall system for this clinic. If you do require an appointment for a check-up in between your appointments, please contact our reception staff, who will be happy to help.
Cardiovascular
Clinic
Routine assessment of cardiovascular risks and provision of lifestyle and dietary advice by our practice nurses. Contact reception to make an appointment.
Child Health Surveillance
Clinic and Postnatal Clinic
Held every Friday morning 9.30 - 11.00am. Run by our practice nurses and doctor who are in attendance for development screening.
Postnatal clinic is by appointment.
Cervical Smear Tests
If you require a smear test, please make an appointment with one of our practice nurses. Ideally, the smear should be taken 14 days after the first day of your last period.
Contraception
If you wish to discuss any issues regarding contraception, please make an appointment with one of our practice nurses.
Please keep a check on your contraceptive pill review date, and make an appointment in advance for a blood pressure check and medication review with one of our practice nurses.
Counsellor
A counselling service is available
by referral from the GP.
Cryotherapy Clinic
Drs White and Wilson run a monthly
wart clinic by appointment.
Minor Surgery Clinic
Sessions are held every week. Surgery
is performed under local anaesthetic as arranged with your doctor. This clinic
also incorporates cryosurgery.
Vaccinations And
Immunisations
Invitations are sent out to all
three-year-old children to attend surgery for their pre-school boosters. Adults
should be kept up to date with tetanus and polio; these can be given by our practice
nurses. Arrangements can be made with the nurses for travel immunisations, but
adequate time must be allowed for the course prior to embarkation (some immunisations
need to be started six weeks prior to travel).
Don't forget that if you are in the following 'at risk' groups you are eligible for a free flu vaccination.
* Chronic respiratory disease, including asthma
* Chronic heart disease
* Chronic liver disease
* Chronic renal disease
* Immunosuppressant due to disease or treatment
* Diabetes
You are also eligible if:
* You are 65 year old or over
* You are the main carer for somebody who would suffer if you became ill.
* You are a patient in a long-stay residential or nursing home or other long stay facility.
* You are pregnant
* You are a poultry worker
* You had a stroke

Cardiovascular
Disease Clinic
Run by our practice nurses. Appointments will be sent to those patients who have been identified as ‘at risk’.
Diabetes Management
Clinic
Run by our practice nurses. Appointments will be sent out to patients on our diabetic list.
Oral Glucose Tolerance Testing
The practice offers the facility of oral glucose tolerance testing. This is only undertaken by referral from your GP.
Chiropody
National Health Service chiropody treatment is available at St Peter's Centre and Kiddrow Lane Health Centre.
Practice Pharmacist
If you have any concerns regarding your medication, our practice-based pharmacist is available every Wednesday for discussion of queries. Contact the receptionist for an appointment.
Non-NHS Examinations
The practice offers medical examinations
for special purposes, such as elderly drivers, pre-employment, fitness to undertake
sports, fitness to travel, PSV and HGV. These are arranged outside normal surgery
hours by contacting reception. A fee recommended by the BMA will be payable. The
practice also offers private support medical services to a number of local companies.
This includes screening of personnel and advice on matters of environmental health.

Dental Problems
If you are not registered with a
dentist and need urgent dental treatment please contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
GPs are not trained to deal with dental problems.
